Baird continuously models global wave conditions using a fully automated forecasting system. NCEP wind forecasts are downloaded as they become available and used to drive a series of nested numerical models (Wavewatch III for offshore conditions, feeding STWAVE for the nearshore).

The system processes these simulation results to produce animations, plots, and tables which are then uploaded to various dynamic web sites. These analyses are an invaluable resource when working on coastal projects.
